Classes

I love to teach quilting classes. It is so much fun to help quilters find their wings. My favorites are easy applique improvisation, strip-piecing, machine quilting with a walking foot, and free-motion quilting. Right now I’m looking for a quilt shop or guild that wants me to teach quilting to their students. Let’s get the party started.

Take a peek at my quilt Holiday Stripes (I call it Grapefruit Sea). This is a perfect quilt to teach in a strip-piecing class. It is patterned in the Best Christmas Quilts 2014 issue of Quilter’s Newsletter magazine. Part of the reason this quilt comes alive is that I used hand-dyed fabrics created with love by Janet Jo Smith, dyesmithy.com. The hand-dyes—in shades of “very red” and soothing “ocean blue”—add an artistic, painterly coloration that I love.   —Joyce Robinson
