Tropical Vacation

A tropical batik and hand-dyed fabrics from dyesmithy.com (and a trip to Dry Tortugas) inspired this off-center art quilt. The curved piecing on Tropical Vacation was easy and spiral free-motion quilting finishes it off. I also designed a matching table runner. I loved the technique so much, I created another sister quilt (Planetary Progression).  —Joyce Robinson
