Being a patterning and quilt diagraming expert, I wanted to make sure that I could sew anything that I could draft. The feathered star block design (with a secondary star) is very difficult and is one of my favorite classic blocks. Piecing sixteen insets per star was sure worth the effort. I remember the first block taking about 8 hours. But it gets easier! For the finishing touch, I added sunflower and spiral quilting variations to fill every corner of the quilt. The pattern for Wild Star will appear in an upcoming issue of Quilter’s Newsletter magazine. —Joyce Robinson
