Box Canyon (also named Tranquility) was one of my early experiments with the rectangle as the block instead of the traditional square. I designed the vine and leafy quilting for the center patch. This was created using a fun strip-piecing technique to master mitering corners. Batik fabrics—think warm and cool—plus wool batting and rayon thread. —Joyce Robinson
